No telly the weekend just gone, so I’ve been scouring the news feeds until the Bahrain Grand Prix next weekend. One, unconfirmed, piece of news is about Mick Schumacher, son of Michael Schumacher. Young Mick had quite a season in Formula Three last year, enough to raise the eyebrow of Dan Ticktum. He went on a winning streak that included Silverstone, Spa, the Nurburgring, and the Red Bull Ring. Not to mention podiums at Misano, Zandvoort and Hungary. So whats this news? Well, he is due to make his Formula One debut at the post-Bahrain Grand Prix test. The test will be with both Scuderia Ferrari and the Alfa Romeo Formula One teams.
Following his Formula Three Championship win, at his second attempt, Mick Shumacher was signed up to the Ferrari Driver Academy. This follows a roster of drivers that include the late Jules Bianchi, Charles Leclerc, and multiple podium winner, Sergio Perez. Mick Schumacher is set to contest his first Formula 2 races this coming weekend. We look forward to seeing how he performs.
