Tuesday was very much the morning after the night before, so we headed to a Monaco favourite; Cafe de Paris in Casino Square. A couple of cappucinos later and our heads were straight. Cafe de Paris lovely old Cafe and definitely the place to see and be seen. Capuccinos were accompanied by English muffins (and french toast). After a mere 2 hours idly watching the world go by, we were now ready to attack the penultimate leg of this scenic car tour.
The convoy headed out of Monaco the way we came in. Up the east-side and past the beautiful new towers that line the roads. With the principality firmly in the rear view mirror we all headed back to Italy before heading north to Annecy. Like it or loathe it, The EU inspired lack of borders does make cross-country driving far easier for us road trippers. And, like them or loathe them, Italian drivers are enthusiastic. Its rare you see seventy-something ladies in Toyota Yari’ overtaking a train of Porsches and Ferraris (and the occasional fettered M-Car). In Italy that’s pretty much standard.
