A self-drive holiday, over 4 nights and 5 days, into the depths of the swiss alps is the stuff of fantasy. A cursory look at the route confirms this: the Furka Pass, the Grimsel Pass, and the Susten Pass, are stuff of driving legend. And that’s just the second day! The third day of your holiday takes you north to Davos, driving the Julier, Albula, and Fluela Passes. If you’re feeling especially energetic there’s also the chance to make the hop to the Austrian-Italian border to drive the epic Stelvio Pass. On day four, as your journey heads back towards the UK you’ll also get to drive the famous Hillclimb route at Trois-Epis, and the incredible roads that surround this motorsport mecca.

Once you’ve crossed into France, you have an average of 4.5 hours daily driving. But how you add to this is entirely up to you. With no shortage of incredible views to stop at, or roads to choose from, you can choose to make your driving holiday as long or as short as you wish. This is why we give this tour a difficulty rating of 3/3.

At the end of each day you’ll also need a warm place to stay and a cold beer. This is why we’ve hand-picked our favourite hotels along the way. You will stay at a great selection from rustic alpine retreats, to stunning lakeside resorts.
